No more wet armpits if you work in the catering industry
By Edwin van Dongen
It's completely normal to sweat while working in the hospitality industry, especially if you work in a kitchen or have busy shifts where you're constantly moving. Here are some tips to stay more comfortable while working:
Wear breathable clothing: Choose clothing made from lightweight, breathable materials such as cotton or linen. Avoid synthetic materials that don't breathe and can make you feel warmer. Use anti-sweat shirts with armpit pads that absorb sweat.
Use absorbent fabrics: Wear absorbent clothing such as a sweatband or towel to absorb sweat. This can help prevent sweat from running into your eyes or onto your clothes.
Drink plenty of water: Make sure you drink enough water to stay hydrated and prevent excessive sweating. Drink small amounts of water regularly rather than large amounts at a time.
Use deodorant: Use a deodorant to prevent excessive sweating. Choose an antiperspirant that is specially designed for athletes or people who do heavy work.
Take breaks: Take frequent breaks to rest and cool down. Go outside for some fresh air, or move to a cooler area if you can.
Ventilation: Provide good ventilation in the kitchen and wear a breathable face mask to make breathing easier.
It's important to remember that sweating is a natural response of the body and is a sign that you are working hard. So make sure you take good care of yourself and try to enjoy the work you do!
